Our Structure

The ACMC is administered by Defence but reflects a whole-of-government approach with personnel seconded from a number of departments and agencies.

Our workforce

The ACMC is a small, dynamic organisation with a diverse workforce.

In recognition of Australia’s strong bi-lateral relationship with New Zealand, the Centre’s Deputy Executive Director is seconded from the New Zealand government.

The Centre is supported by seconded staff from government departments including the Australian Defence Force, Foreign Affairs and Trade, Home Affairs, and the Australian Federal Police. Civil society is represented through the Australian Council for International Development secondee and the Centre is well supported by contracted specialists and subject matter experts engaged to contribute knowledge, experience and expertise on ACMC’s projects and programs.

ACMC's permanent staff are Australian Public Servants from the Department of Defence. 

ACMC consists of four directorates:

Concepts and Capability Directorate - Research, publications, communications, preparedness, lessons and evaluation, and concepts.

International and Domestic Engagement Directorate - Outreach, stakeholder support and engagement, education and training, learning and development products.

Business Operations and Governance Directorate - Human resources, finance, business processes, reporting, IT, communications, facilities and governance.

Advisors and Seconded Personnel - From New Zealand Government, Australian Defence Force, Australian Federal Police, Home Affairs (Emergency Management Australia), Australian Council for International Development.
