New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Just as Australia has strong ties with New Zealand – historical, strategic, cultural and regional - the Australian Civil Military Centre (ACMC) has strong relationships with relevant New Zealand agencies. The Deputy Executive Director position at ACMC is filled by a member of New Zealand Government (currently NZ Police), in recognition of the strong and necessary ties between the countries, and the need to remain linked on Civil-Military-Police matters.

The purpose of New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is to pursue the New Zealand Government’s international priorities and provide advice to the Government on the implications for New Zealand of what is happening in the world. New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Australia is a member of the ACMC Strategic Advisory Panel, and along with the Deputy Executive Director at the ACMC, ensures that New Zealand’s strategic priorities in a Civil-Military-Police context are considered in the priorities and deliverables of the ACMC.
