Just as Australia has strong ties with New Zealand – historical, strategic, cultural and regional - the Australian Civil Military Centre (ACMC) has strong relationships with relevant New Zealand agencies. The Deputy Executive Director position at ACMC is filled by a member of New Zealand Government (currently NZ Police), in recognition of the strong and necessary ties between the countries, and the need to remain linked on Civil-Military-Police matters.
The New Zealand Defence Force is the organisation, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, responsible for delivering Defence to New Zealand. The Defence Force provides essential support to the delivery of the New Zealand Government’s national security interests. Given the strong historical and strategic military ties between the Australian and New Zealand Militaries, ACMC works closely with the New Zealand Defence Force to ensure that New Zealand’s interests are taken into account in the promotion of civil-military-police capabilities in the Australasian context.
