The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) is the peak body for Australian non government organisations (NGOs) involved in international development and humanitarian action. Staff from NGOs will usually be deployed to the same conflicts or disasters that the Australian Government responds to. ACFID provides the seconded Civil Society Liaison position at ACMC, in order that Australian NGO priorities are considered when the Australian Government prepares for or responds to disasters or conflicts overseas.
