Each year, Rotary funds some of the world’s most dedicated and brightest professionals to study at Rotary Peace Centres, under the Rotary Peace Fellowship Program.
ACMC hosted this year’s Peace Fellows from the School of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Queensland, to support their broader understanding of Australia’s approach to peace and conflict studies and resolution.
Executive Director Alan Ryan, Deputy Executive Director Glenn Dunbier, and Directors Amanda Coghlan and Jim Burns briefed the fellows on the ACMC’s mission, purpose and programs. Through this highly valued opportunity, ACMC was able to showcase and build awareness on the Centre’s unique role in Australia’s Whole-of-Government, joined-up approaches to crisis response overseas.
Productive discussion centred around the ACMC’s current work, including learning and development offerings, research into deployed women, and the way in which ACMC influences policy makers, practitioners and inter-agency planning fora by building knowledge and offering good practices for civil-military-policing cooperation.
