de-facto authority? ACMC hosted senior visitors from advocacy group Geneva Call to explore this challenging issue.

Geneva Call is an international organisation that advocates for armed groups and de facto authorities to uphold the principles of International Humanitarian Law, to improve the protection of civilians living under their control.

ACMC met with Geneva Call Board Member (and RedR Australia CEO) Dr Helen Durham, Director-General, Alain Deletroz, and Myanmar Country Director Firouzeh Mitchell on 10 October.

ACMC hosted an open webinar with Geneva Call which explored the challenges and operational realities of working with non-state armed groups to achieve better outcomes for civilian communities, and why this is strategically important for Australia in the current geopolitical climate.
