After an overwhelming response, registration for the ACMC Women, Peace and Security Workshops in April and June are now closed.
About the Workshop
The Australian Government is deeply committed to supporting the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda to ensure better outcomes for diverse women and girls in conflict, protracted crisis and post-conflict settings, and is considered a global leader in this space.
To support this commitment the Australian Civil-Military Centre (ACMC) will deliver two Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Workshops for Whole-of-Government stakeholders. These workshops will:
- Build knowledge on the links between gender inequality, violent conflict and peace.
- As part of this, improve awareness of an intersectional approach to integrating gender considerations in emergencies and response to protracted crisis.
- Analyse the four pillars of the Women, Peace and Security agenda: prevention, participation, protection and relief/recovery.
- Enhance recognition of the importance of adopting an intersectional gender lens for effective operations (both in disasters and protracted crisis).
- Build foundational skills in using tools like the Rapid Gender Analysis to improve conflict analysis and humanitarian response.
Dates
The workshops will be held virtually on 28-29 April 2020 and 9-10 June 2020 through Virtual Platform
Participants
The workshop is open to interested participants from Australian Defence Force, Australian Federal Police, Home Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and other relevant Federal Government agencies and stakeholders working at the APS 5 - EL1 / ADF 04-06.
Costs
ACMC will fully fund the workshop course fee.
