As the Tropical Cyclone season approaches, ACMC supported Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Management Training conducted by the Solomon Islands National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) in Honiara as part of Ex COAST WATCHERS 24-2.
The EOC Management Training involved 35 participants from a range of Solomon Islands agencies, including the NDMO and Royal Solomon Islands Police Force. ACMC’s Assistant Director Preparedness, Damian Eaton helped deliver three days of theory and practical training in late September, with a particular focus on civil-military coordination.
This engagement is part of ACMC’s commitment to strengthen regional civil-military-police capacity and capability to respond more effectively to natural disasters and builds upon our strong relationships with Solomon Islands authorities.
