Simon Tidy – Strategic Communications Manager

Simon Tidy is the Strategic Communications Manager at the Centre, a position he has held since August 2010. Simon has worked in a range of journalism, communications and public affairs roles in both Perth and Canberra.

Starting as a journalist on a small community paper in Perth for two years, he moved into PR working for state government departments and agencies and also spent a number of years running his own PR/marketing consultancy in Perth before moving to Canberra in 2000.

Since then, he has had a number of roles in and out of the APS, in a diverse range of policy areas ranging from welfare and social security, health and ageing, medical research, anti-doping and defence, and even a short stint in the Parliamentary Press Gallery. Simon was also an executive recruiter in Canberra for three years, adding yet another career to his burgeoning CV.

In his spare time he is a loving partner and father, an avid follower of politics and social trends both in the mainstream and online media, an AFL fan and a tragic gamer, playing on-line computer games rather badly.
